Text-to-Pay allows you to pay your rent via text. Note: At this time, you can only make full payments through the Text-to-Pay feature. If you would like to make a partial payment, please log in to your resident portal through the app or a web browser.

Set-up Text-to-Pay:

  1. Opt in to receive SMS messages from your property. Opt in through either the Home page or Resident Profile Page.

  1. On the top menu, click the Profile button
  2. Click Edit Profile
  3. Select the Subscribe to Voice Calls check box
  4. Enter your phone number in Mobile Phone for Texts (SMS) field
  5. Click Update Profile

After opting-in to SMS messages through Resident Portal, RENTCafe sends an SMS opt-in confirmation message to the number provided.

  1. Set up a security PIN and select the payment account from which to make payments.
    1. From the top menu, click the Profile button
    2. In the User Settings section, in the row corresponding to Text-to-Pay, click Payment Accounts
    3. In the Text-to-Pay section on the Payments Accounts screen, enter a unique PIN (alphanumeric only) and select the payment account that you want to use for payments with text-to-pay. You can select any payment account that is already set up in resident services
    4. Click Save. You can now make payments by sending a message with the text “Pay Now” to 85938
